KUALA LUMPUR, 3 July 2024 – YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of UPM has officiated The 6th International Conference on Educational Research And Practice 2024 (ICERP 2024) held at the Concorde Ballroom, Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 4 July 2024 recently.

The two (2) day conference was conducted in a hybrid manner with 129 participants from eleven (11) countries including the United States of America, China, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Australia, Kazakhstan and the Philippines.

YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah said in his opening speech, "this conference opens up opportunities for the exchange of ideas, research innovation, provides the latest understanding and encourages collaboration among experts, researchers, policy makers, educators, students and those involved in the field of Education and Human Resource Development. UPM aims to provide a platform for all those involved so that they can build networks and improve their respective professionalism through this conference."

The theme of ICERP 2024 which has been organized for the eighth time is SDGs in Action: Creating Impact Through Education and Practice, which reflects the mission of Malaysia and UPM in the field of education and as a driving force in creating a positive and sustainable impact in the community and further supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
This is also supported by Prof. Associate Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies, in his speech "Education is at the forefront of efforts to achieve the SDGs. By empowering education, we can nurture a new generation of change makers who are ready to tackle the pressing issues of the future.”

The keynote address of the conference was delivered by Prof. Dr. Maria Jose Lera Rodzrigues from the University of Seville Spain, Prof. Dr. Brain Findsen, Adult Learning Consultant New Zealand, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA) and Prof. Dr. Charles Russo from the University of Ohio at Dayton USA.

Dr Aira Abdul Rahim as the Chair of the Organizing Committee of ICERP 2024 said, "The theme chosen for this year, "SDGs in Action: Creating Impact Through Education and Practice", resonates with humanitarian aspirations, especially focusing on transformative and educational practices to create an impact that can be great for every level of society."

The opening of ICERP 2024 was also attended by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), YBrs. Mr. Muhazam Mansor, Registrar, YBrs. Mr. Mahbob Yusof, UPM Chief Librarian and member of Faculty Management.

This conference received financial assistance from the Center for Waqf, Zakat and Endowment Management, UPM (WAZAN) in the form of sponsoring the registration of ten (10) students as conference participants.
