Serdang, November 11, 2025 - A strategic collaborative discussion session was held between the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN). This session aims to build long-term relationships that add value to the industry and community network thru the implementation of high-impact joint programs.
The discussion was chaired by Ts. Dr. Mohd Hazwan Mohd Puad, Head of the Department of Science and Technology, accompanied by Cik Azizah Tamsi, Head of Administration for the Industry & Community Network (JINM), UPM; Dr. Suriani Ismail, JINM FPP Coordinator; Dr. Rahimah Jamaluddin, Senior Lecturer at FPP; and Puan Mazlina Ismail, Administrative Officer, Office of the Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation & Funding at FPP.
KPDN was represented by Mr. Ravichandran A/L Vadivellu, Director of the Exhibition Control and Management Section, Enforcement Division, along with three senior KPDN officers. The presence of this delegation reflects the ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation between government agencies and higher education institutions.
This discussion session opens up space for exploring various strategic initiatives, including the development of training programs, joint research, expert lectures, community activities, and innovation opportunities in the fields of consumer protection and consumer education. This collaboration is also expected to contribute to strengthening industry networks, community engagement, and the development of a social sustainability agenda in line with the aspirations of UPM and KPDN.
This initiative is a significant first step toward developing a joint action plan to ensure its benefits can be enjoyed by the campus community, industry, and society as a whole.
