INNOVATION SHOWCASE 2026 HIGHLIGHTING INNOVATION CULTURE AND EDUCATIONAL THINKING

  

 
SERDANG, June 11, 2026 – The Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to strengthen the culture of innovation and creativity thru the organization of the Innovation Showcase 2026, which was held with great enthusiasm at the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM.
The organization of this year's program focuses on strengthening the Education 5.0 ecosystem in an effort to cultivate pioneering, creative, and competitive thinking among undergraduate and postgraduate students. The annual program serves as a strategic platform for students, educators, and innovators to showcase creative innovations across various educational and technological disciplines.
Throughout the program, poster presentation sessions and the evaluation process by the judging panel were conducted intensively. The innovation exhibition showcased various high-impact projects that successfully captured the attention of the judges and visitors.
 
  
 
Among the highlighted innovations are the Smart Robolis Usage Project in Teaching Essays on Technology and Innovation Topics: Robo Era, Rap It: From Beat to Basic Ratio, and Smart IPO, which showcase the integration of creativity, technology, and contemporary pedagogical approaches in line with the needs of future education.
The closing ceremony of the program was officiated by YBrs. Prof. Associate Professor Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and attended by YBrs. Dr. Mohd Faiq Abd Aziz, Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation, and Funding); as well as YBrs. Dr. Halimah Jamil as the Chairperson of the Innovation Showcase 2026.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners in the poster and video categories virtually, showcasing the excellence of high-impact innovations among the community of Universiti Putra Malaysia, public university lecturers, State Education Department officers, and secondary school teachers.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies, Assoc. Prof. Associate Professor Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar, the organization of the Innovation Showcase 2026 reflects the faculty's commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also capable of being catalysts for solutions to current educational challenges.
"FPP always supports the Education 5.0 agenda, which emphasizes creativity, innovation, and technology in learning." Programs like this provide opportunities for students to explore new ideas and build confidence as future educators and innovators," he explained.
 
  
 
Meanwhile, Nurul Aina, a second-year student of the Bachelor of Malay Language Education with Honors (BMBPDK), described the Innovation Showcase as a platform that provides an authentic out-of-classroom learning experience.
"Innovation Showcase is a platform that places future educators at the axis of reality." The experience of defending innovative materials in front of judges not only tests our thinking skills but also forces us to think outside the academic box. This is a paradigm shift to change our status from mere users of technology to solution providers ready to face the wave of Education 5.0," he said optimistically.
"Innovation proves that an educator is not only bound by the 'chalk and talk' teaching method." Educators need to cultivate creative thinking within themselves in order to produce more relevant and engaging learning approaches. "This program not only injects creativity among the participants but also proves that UPM students' innovative products have high potential to be showcased at the industrial and international levels," he said.
The success of the Innovation Showcase 2026 has set a new benchmark in strengthening the culture of innovation and sustainable education at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The strong synergy between the commitment of the participants and the efficiency of the organizing committee demonstrates the capability of FPP as a key catalyst in producing globally competitive human capital ready to face future challenges.
