Serdang, January 5, 2026 - Year 3 students from the Bachelor of Agricultural Science Education with Honors (BPSPDK) program, Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for the 2025/2026 session, organized the Farmtastic Agrobazar 2026 program as a platform for real-world experiential learning in the fields of agrotechnology and entrepreneurship.
This program is conducted under the courses STE4100 Teaching of Agrotechnology Management and STE3305 Business and Entrepreneurship Education, with guidance from the course lecturer, Ts. Dr. How Shwu Pyng and Dr. Arnida Abdullah, as well as the support of agricultural officers and assistant officers from the Faculty of Educational Studies.
Also involved in organizing this program are Year 3 Bachelor of Science Education (Home Economics) with Honors (BPSRTDK) students from the 2025/2026 session, who will be showcasing the results of their Internet of Things (IoT) projects developed throughout this semester's practical sessions. The exhibition showcases the application of technology in modern education and agriculture, aligning with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Farmtastic Agrobazar 2026 program was also enlivened by the presence of the teacher community from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Kundang and students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), further strengthening the collaborative network between educational institutions and the external community.
Thru the organization of this program, students have the opportunity to apply their learning during and after practical classes thru various knowledge transfer activities to the community. Activities carried out include preparing stem cuttings, preparing planting medium, and producing organic fertilizer based on eggshells and vegetable waste.
To fulfilll the requirements of courses STE4100 and STE3305, students also engage in entrepreneurial activities by selling agricultural products such as sweet corn, lettuce, kale, pak choy, and water spinach that they cultivated themselves throughout this semester's practical session at Farm 10B, Agricultural Science Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. This activity not only strengthens technical skills in agriculture but also provides direct exposure to sales management, product marketing, and real-world business operations.
According to the Program Director of Farmtastic Agrobazar 2026, Brother Muhammad Othman Zakaria, overall, this program successfully served as a holistic learning platform that integrated theory, practice, technology, and entrepreneurship.
