SERDANG, March 10 – The Cooking and Distribution of Bubur Lambuk program, a collaboration between the Islamic Center and the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully held on March 10, 2026, at the UPM Mosque.
The program, which started as early as 8:00 AM, involved various activities including ingredient preparation, cooking, cooling, packaging, and transferring the porridge to distribution locations before it was distributed to the public after the Asr prayer.
A total of 44 staff members from the Faculty of Education participated as volunteers to make this program a success. The activity of cooking bubur lambuk was led by Dr. Rahimah Jamaluddin from the Department of Science and Technical Education, while the distribution of the porridge to the public was completed by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Associate Professor Dr. Wan Rarzuki Wan Jaafar.

According to the dean, programs like this not only revive the tradition of preparing bubur lambuk, which is synonymous with the month of Ramadan, but also serve as a platform to foster the spirit of volunteerism and togetherness among university members.
"This program is not just a charitable activity, but also a medium to strengthen the bonds of kinship among faculty members and to reinforce the university's relationship with the surrounding community thru the sharing of blessings during the month of Ramadan," he said.
He added that faculty members' involvement in volunteer-based programs like this can instill values of empathy, social concern, and teamwork spirit among the staff.
The organization of this program is expected to continue strengthening the culture of volunteerism among university members while also igniting the spirit of Ramadan thru practices of sharing and helping the community.
