INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVE

The Faculty of Educational Studies Resource Centre was established to provide excellent information resources, learning facilities, and information services to meet the needs of students and lecturers of the Faculty of Educational Studies in their learning, teaching, and research activities at UPM.

VISION

To meet the University’s information needs in learning, teaching, research, and consultancy activities.
To optimize the use of various facilities and information resources.
To strengthen customer education programmes towards lifelong learning.

SERVICES

The Faculty of Educational Studies Resource Centre provides reference services. All collection materials are for reference use within the Resource Centre only. The following is a detailed description of the collections available:

Thesis Collection

A collection of theses produced by students of the Faculty of Educational Studies enrolled in the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programmes.

Reference Book Collection

Reference books related to the fields of study offered by the Faculty of Educational Studies, as well as books published by the Faculty’s academic staff.

Research Report Collection

Research reports conducted by academic staff of the Faculty.

Journal Collection

Local and international peer-reviewed journals published in printed form.

Policy and Policy Document Collection

Books related to government policies in the fields of education and human resource development, as well as policies published by Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Discussion Rooms

The Resource Centre provides discussion rooms that can be booked by students of the Faculty of Educational Studies for group work. There are three discussion rooms, with a maximum capacity of 12 users and a minimum of 3 users per room. Each room is equipped with a whiteboard and LCD projector. Applications can be made at the Faculty of Educational Studies Resource Centre Service Counter or online.

Reading Area

A reading area is provided with a seating capacity of 48 seats.

Computers

Computers are provided to facilitate students’ access to and reference of online materials.
