Food Security and Agriculture for the People (PUTRA) through school co-curricular activities is a strategic approach based on the Universiti Putra Malaysia Food Security Blueprint. The main purpose of this is to enable strategic leaps in line with the sustainable resource baseline based on the surge in financial sustainability and infrastructure sophistication to achieve impactful outcomes at the university and national levels. The Food Security and Agriculture for the People (PUTRA) Agenda Book through School Co-curricular Activities translates UPM's commitment to increasing community and industry involvement through the establishment of the PUTRA Squad at UPM and the PUTRA Club at schools.

 

At UPM, the PUTRA Squad plays a role as a mentor and expert reference in implementing the planned agricultural and food security agenda. Meanwhile, the PUTRA Club serves as a platform in the implementation of school co-curricular activities that focus on agricultural sustainability and food security.

 

The implementation of the Food and Agriculture Security Agenda for the People (PUTRA) through school co-curricular activities increases UPM's contribution to community and industry engagement, aiming to have a positive impact on the development of personality, leadership, interests and careers of agri-entrepreneurs, university students and school students. At the same time, UPM supports the improvement of the quality of life and well-being of society as a whole.
