Uniqueness and strengths of programmes offered

The curriculum of this programme encompasses comprehensive knowledge and skills in educational technology, as well as instructional technology and innovation, including design, development, integration, management, and evaluation. The academic team comprises experienced and highly specialised experts in the fields of Learning Design and Experience, Instructional Technology, Emerging Technologies and Innovations, Multimodality, Flexible Learning, Learning Analytics, and e-Entrepreneurship in Education.

This programme is highly relevant to the national agenda of developing a holistic talent pool in support of the STEM and Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) aspirations. It covers interdisciplinary knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and industry needs that have been evaluated and endorsed by international experts.

In addition, various 21st-century learning spaces which featured dynamic combination of psychosocial, spatial, and technological infrastructure are provided to support the programme. This is complemented by a well-structured and comprehensive curriculum and information framework.

Offered in mix mode, the programme combines face-to-face coursework with dissertation writing (total of 40 credit hours), aiming to strike a balance between theoretical and practical learning, as well as research practice. Students are also given the opportunity to actively participate in various current technology-related activities and events such as technology in education seminars, postgraduate colloquiums, international conferences, and hands-on educational technology innovation exhibitions. These initiatives aim to enhance students' scholarly engagement and practical skills in real-world environments, while also immersing them in academic and research culture.

Through this programme, postgraduate students will gain impactful and in-depth experience in:

• Designing and developing instructional solutions based on technology and innovation to address contemporary educational challenges;
• Strategically integrating, constructing, and delivering knowledge in the field of instructional technology and innovation;
• Conducting focused projects or research in educational technology, learning design, and contemporary pedagogical innovation.

This programme is open to education graduates, teachers, education officers, and non-education graduates who are keen to explore the field of educational technology. Graduates of this programme have ventured into a wide range of prestigious career paths such as educational technology specialists, instructional designers, educators in schools and higher education institutions, research officers, educational technology consultants, and policy-makers driving digital transformation in the education sector. Example career pathways include Instructional Designers in the corporate sector, e-Learning Specialists in universities, and Educational Technology Officers in government or international agencies.
