Uniqueness

The Moral Education Program at Universiti Putra Malaysia is a pioneer in the field of Moral Education in Malaysia.  By tradition, the Moral Education Program began at Universiti Putra Malaysia which acts as an inventor, in providing a teacher training center for prospective teachers in the field of Moral Education. In addition, the Moral Education Program at Universiti Putra Malaysia is suitable as a tertiary institution for instructors in the field of Moral Education, whether from the school level, public universities, private universities and related agencies. It is no exaggeration to say that, most of the instructors in other higher learning institutions (in the field of Moral Education), are alumni of this program.

Strength

The Moral Education program at Universiti Putra Malaysia has been evaluated by an international figure, Professor James Conroy from the School of Education, University of Glasgow, U.K. which acts as the external evaluator of the program. The report found that, the curriculum of this program has 'world standards' and very comprehensive in achieving its goals. In line with that, this program not only meets the needs of the Ministry of Education Malaysia, but also balances the needs of other agencies or institutions that require ethical/moral officers in their organization. Other strengths of this program are the instructors involved in this program have professional qualifications and experiences that appropriate to this field.  In addition, this program has diverse capacities, including teaching, research, publishing, environmental and social facets to support the development of students. Thus, the combination of all the above aspects, provide and support a holistic teaching and learning process of this program. In addition, in line with the requirements of the new norm, the program is always ready to meet the challenges of Covid-19, by providing a teaching and learning experiences that can be carried out either face-to-face or online.
