The READ@UNI FPP program in conjunction with World Diabetes Day 2025 receives an encouraging response.

SERDANG, 13 November – Program Read@Uni Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia yang diadakan sempena Hari Diabetes Sedunia 2025 mendapat sambutan menggalakkan daripada warga FPP dan UPM.
The program, held in the Foyer of Block A, FPP, began at 9:00 AM with free health checks conducted by the University Health Center (PKU) UPM. The inspection team is led by Dr. Aditya Adawiah Binti Darwis.
The highlight of the program was the sharing session titled "Smart Steps to Prevent Diabetes" by Prof. Dr. Soh Kim Geok. In his sharing, he emphasized the importance of healthy eating habits, sugar control, and a routine of physical activity as early preventive measures to reduce the risk of diabetes among the community.
Meanwhile, the event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Madya Dr. Nor Aniza Ahmad (Deputy Dean, Graduate Studies and Alumni) who also participated in the health screening for the participants. In his speech, he stated, "Programs like this are extremely important in fostering early awareness of healthcare among faculty members." Health is a shared responsibility, and preventive efforts like early screening can save lives. Saya amat menyokong inisiatif Read@Uni FPP dengan kerjasama PKU yang menyediakan ruang untuk kita menilai tahap kesihatan serta meningkatkan ilmu berkaitan diabetes. Hopefully, the residents of FPP will continue to make healthy living a daily culture.
Its organization is also in line with FPP's commitment to supporting the university's agenda thru the PUTRASihat initiative in empowering a healthy lifestyle culture within the campus community.
Read@Uni FPP bukan sahaja mengangkat mesej kesedaran kesihatan, tetapi turut menyuntik nilai pembelajaran melalui bahan bacaan terpilih bertemakan penjagaan kesihatan dan diabetes. The program concluded with a steady stream of campus visitors seeking information, check-ups, and support for efforts to improve the well-being of the university community.
