Serdang, May 6, 2026– First-year student of the Bachelor of Education in Malay Language with Honors program, Mohamad Haikal Aiman Abdullah, brought honor to the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) when he was crowned the champion of the Grand Finale Senada Putra: Suara Putraku Ke-19 competition held at the PKKSSAAS Trial Theater, UPM.
The prestigious competition, which brought together 12 finalists from UPM's First-Year students, was lively with energetic and high-quality performances from the participants. The Senada Putra program is organized as a platform to discover and hone students' vocal talents while also building self-confidence, discipline, and character.
Mohamad Haikal Aiman Abdullah from the Faculty of Education successfully captivated the hearts of the professional judging panel, which included Dato' Ramli MS, Dato' Mokhzani Ismail, and Aisha Retno, to emerge as the champion of the competition.
The Director of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Center, Mr. Husalshah Rizal Hussian, said that the program is not just a singing competition, but also a medium for the development of students' talents and professionalism. According to him, the participants also underwent vocal and performance training with professional artists from the arts industry, including from Istana Budaya, since October last year.
The success of Mohamad Haikal Aiman Abdullah proves that FPP students excel not only in academics but also shine in the fields of arts and creativity, in line with UPM's aspiration to produce holistic and competitive graduates.
