11 January 2025, Saturday – A total of 83 participants from SJKC Serdang Baru 2 (SJKCSB2) Seri Kembangan, Selangor came to visit Farm 10B, Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Participants from various ages consisting of 39 parents, 40 students and 2 children under the guidance of 2 school teacher representatives.

This visit was carried out at the request of the community with the approval and support of FPP, UPM to increase the knowledge of SJKCSB2 residents about the importance of agricultural activities towards food security. This visit also provided exposure to hydroponic systems on real farms while contributing to the understanding of the concept, function of basic components and design of hydroponic systems, especially the practical Nutrient Film Technique (NFT).

FPP 10B Farm Coordinator and STE4100 course lecturer, Ts. Dr. How Shwu Pyng said that this visit consisted of a knowledge transfer session with various agricultural focuses to ensure the success of TVET education. There were four agricultural knowledge transfer stations operated by 41 Bachelor of Agricultural Science Education with Honours (BPSPDK) students under the guidance of FPP 10b Farm agricultural experts. These included the Tani 4.0 Station on hydroponic and NFT systems, the Maize Exploration Station on sweet corn crops, the Small Livestock Station on quail farming and the Agrofiesta Station on agricultural entrepreneurship which sold products produced by STE4100 students. Also present were Dr. Roshafiza Hassan as a senior FPP lecturer and three 10B Farm agricultural experts, namely Mr. Mohammad Sallehhuden Samah, Ms. Nurul Azika Abdul Jalil and Mr. Muhammad Taqiuddin Shith Mohd Shith Putera.

All participants of the visit were served food sponsored by Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (YPM) before visiting the knowledge transfer station in groups. The visit ended with a closing ceremony and a speech of appreciation from the school. Souvenirs were also presented to the school with a photo session in the 10B FPP Farm briefing room before dispersing.
