KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PROGRAM & EMPOWERMENT OF EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL

RAUB, 7 November 2025 – Master of Education (Educational Psychology) students from the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), conducted a Knowledge Transfer and Empowerment Program for Children Experiencing Educational Disadvantage at Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Raub, Pahang, in collaboration with the home's management.
This program, based on an educational psychology approach, features interactive knowledge transfer activities, emotional empowerment and learning motivation sessions, as well as creative self-development activities that involve the active participation of the children residing in the home. This program is the result of good collaboration between the Faculty of Educational Studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), led by an educational psychology lecturer, Dr. Nur Aimi Nasuha Burhanuddin, along with the Kasih Sayang Charity Body (BAKASA) and the supervisor of the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Children's Home, Puan Malindawati Mamat.
This program not only strengthens postgraduate students' professional competencies in the field of educational psychology but also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of early intervention, psychological support, and educational rehabilitation for children who have dropped out of school. In addition, participation in this program can foster a sense of community while also increasing the sensitivity and scholarship of UPM postgraduate students, as well as their awareness of the psychological and educational needs of school students who are currently facing various psychological challenges in the new millenium.
Thru the implementation of this initiative, UPM continues to strengthen its commitment to community service in supporting inclusive education and the holistic development of children, in line with the university's aspirations as a leader in excellence in education, research, and service to the community.
