SERDANG, 17 November 2025 – The Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) received a visit from Honorary Visiting Professor, Professor Emeritus Dr. Clive Dimmock from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, from November 4th to 17th, 2025. He is a renowned figure in the field of Educational Leadership and Administration, with an extensive record of excellence encompassing teaching, research, publications, and international consulting.
Throughout the two-week visit to UPM, Prof. Dimmock has held a series of strategic meetings with faculty management to explore the potential for international academic and research collaboration, including opportunities for scholar exchanges, partnerships with sister universities, and strengthening research capacity in the field of educational leadership.
He also conducted research discussion sessions with FPP academic staff, opening up opportunities for exploring new collaborative projects that could have a global impact, particularly in the fields of school leadership, educational organizational development, and improving the effectiveness of the education system.
Additionally, Prof. Dimmock delivered a series of special lectures and workshops to lecturers and postgraduate students. The session provided participants with in-depth exposure to international best practices, evidence-based effective leadership models, and global perspectives on education transformation.
The highlight of his visit was the keynote address at the faculty's annual seminar, i-GREDUC 2025, which brought together scholars and researchers from home and abroad to discuss innovation and change agendas in education.
Dean of the Faculty of Education Studies, Prof. Madya Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar expressed his appreciation for his presence and stated that: "The presence of Professor Emeritus Dr. Clive Dimmock brings significant strategic value to FPP. He not only strengthened our efforts to become a faculty with the mission of Leading in Educational Studies, but also provided new encouragement to the academic community in enriching research, thinking, and international networks. His sharing opened up a global perspective that is highly relevant to today's educational landscape and inspired us to continue moving forward.
Overall, this academic visit had a significant impact on FPP and UPM by improving the quality of teaching, research, expanding international networks, and strengthening the university's reputation as a leader in the field of educational leadership in the region.
