Putrajaya, 13 April 2026 – The excellence of research expertise at the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to receive recognition as four researchers from the Department of Professional Development and Advanced Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Director-General of the Department of Industrial Relations Malaysia (JPPM), Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA).
The researchers who received the award are Dr. Suriani Ismail, Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Dr. Ahmad Aizuddin Md Rami and Dr. Siti Noormi Alias. Also receiving a certificate of appreciation is Datin Dr. Zoharah Omar, Senior Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Elektrisola (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., for her significant contribution in strengthening industrial cooperation.
This prestigious recognition is given as a token of appreciation for the high commitment and active involvement of the recipients in the implementation of various strategic initiatives involving research, training, and consultation with JPPM from 2023 to the present.
The collaboration led by Dr. Suriani Ismail has initiated the development and implementation of the Industrial Relations Information System (IRIS), an innovative platform that functions to measure, assess, and analyze the landscape of industrial relations in Malaysia in a more systematic and high-impact manner. This initiative directly contributes to the strengthening of national industrial relations governance, while also reinforcing efforts to create a more harmonious, progressive, and sustainable industrial relations ecosystem.
The certificate presentation ceremony was officiated by Ms. Meriam Binti Mohd Noor, Deputy Director-General of JPPM, in an official event held at the JPPM KESUMA Office, Putrajaya.
This recognition not only reflects the excellence of UPM researchers in their respective fields of expertise but also elevates the role of higher education institutions as key strategic partners in contributing to policy development, strengthening industrial practices, and advancing the country's socioeconomic progress thru close collaboration with government agencies and the industry.
