Serdang, November 22, 2025 – The Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to make strides as a leading institution in educational innovation with the organization of the MADANI Adopted School Transformation Program: Knowledge Transfer Program with Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Tunku, Petaling Jaya. This program brings together 60 students and 60 teachers thru a comprehensive capacity-building initiative, aligning with national efforts to bridge the education gap and strengthen strategic university-school partnerships to ensure quality learning access for all students.
Based on UPM's motto "Berilmu Berbakti" (Knowledge for Service), this program features a series of holistic modules developed specifically to empower students' self-identity and enhance teachers' professionalism. The student module is creatively and interactively designed, encompassing activities to recognize self-potential, build clear dreams, and cultivate the 'champion' character. The teacher module also focuses on mastering the latest teaching and learning technologies, understanding student psychology, and strategies for building collaborative relationships between teachers, students, and parents to create a more proactive, inclusive, and competitive school ecosystem.
Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation and Funding) cum Project Leader, Dr. Mohd Faiq bin Abd Aziz emphasized that this program is an integrated educational intervention that aligns with FPP's aspirations as a faculty "Leading in Educational Studies." He said, "This collaborative effort not only strengthens UPM's role as a leader in the field of educational research but is also capable of bringing significant changes to Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Tunku thru the support of expertise, academic materials, and continuous guidance from UPM."
The principal of Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Tunku, Puan Rosmawati binti Mat Som, described this program as a true opportunity for transformation for the school. "This program has the potential to boost the school's achievements thru long-term academic collaboration with UPM, in addition to empowering teachers with current teaching and learning skills and increasing students' confidence and potential," he said.
This program once again proves the unwavering commitment of the Faculty of Educational Studies at UPM in driving the transformation of the nation's education thru the systematic, innovative, and high-impact transfer of knowledge. Strategic collaboration with Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Tunku not only empowers students and teachers but also serves as an excellent model for university-school collaboration, with the potential to be expanded nationwide as a catalyst for the emergence of a more competitive, ethical, and forward-thinking generation.
