BENCHMARK VISIT OF THE NEW BACHELOR PROGRAM IN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT WITH SPORTS, AT VICTORIA UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA

Melbourne, Australia, 14 May 2024 - Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education will offer a new study program at degree level, the Bachelor of Youth Development and Sports. The benchmark visit for the formation of this program was carried out by the Head of the Professional Development and Further Education Department, Prof. Associate Professor Dr Nor Wahiza Abdul Wahat and secretary of the new program offering initiative, Bachelor of Youth Development with Sports, Dr Nur Raihan Che Nawi at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia.

 

 

A discussion on relevant program and course names in the Malaysian context together with experts in the field of youth development at Victoria University namely Prof. Emeritus Dr. Robyn Broadbent as an external evaluator of the youth development diploma program, Prof. Dr. Tim Corney and Dr. Jane Hickey who gave a lot of input for the formation of this new program later.

 

 

On the same day, we also attended the "VU Youth and Community Professional Learning Seminar" organized by The Australian Chapter of the Professional Association of Lecturers in Youth and Community Work (PALYCW Australia) delivered by Dr Jane Hickey at the Main Campus, Victoria University. This seminar was also attended by Prof. Mike Seal from St Mary's University, Twickenham, London and youth work lecturer from Victoria University, Technical and Further Education TAFE NSW, Australia
