PUTRAJAYA, Sept 2 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) bagged four out of eight awards at the National Academic Awards (AAN) 2013.

The recipients were, the first Universiti Pertanian Malaysia Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Mohd Rashdan Baba for the National Academic Personality Award and Prof. Dr. Jayakaran Mukundan from Faculty of Educational Studies for the Teaching Award (Applied Arts and Applied Social Sciences cluster).

Other UPM recipients were Prof. Dr.Hajah Rahinah Ibrahim from Faculty of Design and Architecture for the Arts and Creativity Award (Visual Arts/Architecture/Craft category) and Prof. Dr. Azni Idris from Faculty of Engineering for the Innovation and Product Commercialisation Award.

Prof. Dr. Jayakaran Mukundan

He has written more than 80 journal articles, 23 book chapters and 30 books. His endless determination has moved him to receive various awards; five international medals, three medals at national level, 29 medals at the UPM Invention, Research and Innovation Exhibition (PRPI), and successfully secured
four software copyrights.
